Thermal transfer printers
The centre piece of a thermal transfer printer is the print strip, which consists of a grid of points that can be heated. During the actual printing process in the TT printer (thermal transfer printer), the ribbon (or the label material) together with the foil are both drawn at the same speed and simultaneously under the print strip by a feed roller.
If a point on the thermal transfer strip is heated, colour is transferred from the thermal transfer foil (single-colour, usually black) onto the label material.
In the form of the CAB thermal transfer printers listed here, we offer a range of devices that enable particularly straightforward and reliable printing – especially with regard to our textile materials for use in your care labels (identification labels).
The wash fastness of textile thermal transfer labels is very good, even in household washes at 90°C and especially when black colour ribbons are used.
We supply the standard version of the label software “cablabel” free of charge with all CAB TT printers.
This enables you to draft and print labels featuring laundry symbols, all types of barcodes and even your own graphics. We are happy to advise you when it comes to demanding tasks such as printing from databases or ERP systems.

The textile ribbon is safely separated from the transfer foil using the additional drawing roller downstream of the print head. Any electrostatic discharges that may be generated by the label material can therefore be neutralised without any interruption to the printing process.

The label printer for two-colour printing on textiles.
Two colours can be printed on the same side of a label using the two thermal transfer print units arranged in line. One of the print heads features a foil-saving mechanism.

The printed materials are cut and stacked. If the maximum stack height is reached, the printing process is interrupted.
The stacker with cutter is available in the following versions:
- ST4/M: for A4+T/XD4T/XC
- ST4/L: for A4+
Very robust and long lasting cutter for all printers with a print width of up to 105.6 mm. Also provides highly reliable cutting of difficult materials.
Up to around 50 cut labels can be collected in the CU4 cutter tray.
The winder is secured to the label printer and therefore also has a direct electronic connection to the printer. An electronic belt tensioning system via the pendulum arm (dancer) of the winder ensures even and taut winding of the spools.

This winder is operated with an integrated power supply as a stand-alone unit without a belt tensioning system.
As the winder is not secured to or connected to the printer, it can be used universally for a number of printers.

Outside the material width, the print head of the thermal transfer printers rubs against the print roller.
With the narrow print rollers, feed errors and friction-related wear of the print head and print roller are reduced in printers with central material feed.
We stock three standard widths and special widths can be made to order:
- Print roller DR4M-25 – for narrow and thin materials with a width of up to 25 mm
- Print roller DR4M-50 – for very thin materials with a width of between 20 and 50 mm
- Pressure roller DR4M-80 – for very thin materials with a width of up to 80 mm
